Keeping things going during this semi lockdown…

Believe it or not, having a life amidst all these global lockdown variants and parameters is some thing we should not let slide or depreciate. Carrying on with life is a must albeit with the myriad of constraints and obstacles out there to slow us down and keep tabs on us individually. What this means is we as people have to think and apply a different approach to achieving one’s goals – wisdom says don’t give up – by the grace of God we will have to get this chapter. That being said, like you my friend reading this nothing is quite the same anymore for any of us, one’s social life has dramatically changed, at least for the time being…

From time to time, I will still be doing the occasional DJ event, and of course my radio show remains in its mid monthly Wednesday slot on London’s leading Underground Dance station www.rinse.fm – broadcast at noon for 2 hours of musical needs – Everything Good radio is produced monthly for you to look forward to. And, there are also the spontaneous editions of the video series 2 Decks And A Mixer (produced for Talking Music Productions) – I will let you know when and if we can resume the 2DAAM Roadshow side of things.

If you are interested here are a few diary dates I would like you to take note of – musically connected to brighten up your 2020 calendar, to have a little dance at home, in your garden, to keep you on the move with headphones or where ever you are. The first event happens on Sunday, 13th September: DJ Dubois‘s Broadcasting Live show on AAJamusic with guest appearances from T. Maronie and myself DJ Marcia Carr. We will be delving into an assortment of electronica sounds from Bruk, house, techno soul and more, if this is your bag tune in to the live stream from 4pm-6pm, or come along in person – head over to AAJamusic.com for the location details – bring your dancing shoes!

During these times of uncertainty making plans too far ahead into the future seems rather precarious a notion, nonetheless being an optimist is a trait I am not willing to let go of which is why come the autumn the organisation that is Girlz B Like will celebrate having been proactive to showcase female DJs and artists who support the world of records. With previous guests including Josey Rebelle, DJ Paulette, Auntie Maureen, Paris Cesvette, Shy One, Nikki Lucas, Jaidene Veda, Heddi Greenwood, the all-vinyl, women only platform has another anniversary we invite you to party with us with an appearance of special guests: Girlz B Like: Virtually Here 5th Birthday! RSVP our online event happening on Sunday 25th October https://www.facebook.com/events/999588840480216

Your support of these events as and when they arise means the world to me, whether it online or person to person you showing up to gigs is honestly much appreciated during times like this – thank you!

In anticipation of my friends and me experiencing much merriment over the next few weeks take a dip into this mixtape podcast that I placed on Mixcloud recently – enjoy!
